What is an Alignment?
A vehicle alignment, also known as a wheel alignment, ensures your wheels are set to the manufacture’s specifications so your car drives straight, handles properly, and your tires wear evenly. Over time, hitting potholes, curbs, or rough roads can cause your wheels to fall out of alignment.
When your alignment is off, you may notice your vehicle pulling to one side, uneven or rapid tire wear, a crooked steering wheel, or loose or unstable handling. Proper alignment restores correct steering angles (camber, caster, and toe) helping your vehicle maintain stability, improve handling, and extend the life of your tires.
Why is it important?
Improves safety and control. Proper alignment helps your vehicle track straight and respond correctly to steering input, especially during braking, tuning, and emergency maneuvers.
Prevents uneven tire wear. Misaligned wheels cause tires to wear unevenly and prematurely. An alignment helps your tires wear evenly, extending their lifespan and sabing you money.
Better handling and comfort. A correctly aligned vehicle feels more stable, steers smoothly, and eliminates pulling or a crooked steering wheel.
Protects suspension and steering components. Driving with poor alignment puts extra stress on suspension and steering parts, which can lead to faster wear and more costly repairs.
Improves fuel efficiency. When wheels are out of alignment, your vehicle creates more rolling resistance, forcing the engine to burn more fuel.
A vehicle alignment is important because it directly effects safety, handling, tire life, and overall vehicle performance. When your wheels are properly aligned, your vehicle drives the way it was designed to.
